FedBizOps Scheduled for Decommissioning on November 12th

The General Services Administration (GSA) announced that FedBizOps (FBO) will be decommissioned on Veterans Day, November 12, 2019. The move to shut down FBO, which provides information on contracting opportunities with the federal government, comes as part of GSA’s efforts to consolidate and relocate the Integrated Award Environment (IAE) systems to beta.SAM.gov, which will be the new source for all federal award data.

Contractors tracking opportunities within FBO need to spring into action now to properly memorialize any stored information in advance of the site shutdown. Company representatives with any saved data in the FBO system need to be sure to access the system prior to the data freeze beginning on November 8th. This data freeze prepares the system for the shutdown on November 12th.

To access the new system, you will be required to register for an account through login.gov. Once you have registered, you will need to set up the same search criteria and notices that you had in FBO. This is why it is critical to save and document the information from your existing FBO account before it has been decommissioned and is no longer accessible.

Here is a quick breakdown of the steps contractors should follow in order to make a successful move to the new system:

  • Register for an account through login.gov. You can use a beta.SAM.gov account to login if you have one already.
  • Confirm the following information stored in current FBO Account:
    • Notices
    • Search Agents
    • Controlled Attachments
    • Interested Vendor List
    • Any Additional Information
  • Memorialize all of the above information to migrate over to the new system.
