President Trump announced this afternoon that he has agreed to a deal with Congress to fund the federal agencies affected by the partial government shutdown through February 15.  Presumably, this will give Democratic lawmakers and President Trump time to negotiate a compromise solution to the border wall issue.

President Trump said that he expects to sign the legislation this afternoon. Please keep in mind that this may be only a temporary reprieve and we might be dealing with the partial government shutdown again in another three weeks.

In the rush to get back to work, contractors should still separately track costs required to restart the work from the costs of actually performing the contract. Much like the costs to stop the work, the costs to restart the work can be recouped through a request for equitable adjustment or possibly other claims but only if those re-start costs are separately tracked.
