Aronson Foundation Supports Barrio Planta Project and Together We Bake – February Charities of the Month

Aronson’s Charities of the Month for February 2017 are the Barrio Planta Project and Together We Bake.

The Barrio Planta Project provides free access to English language education, arts, communication and job-training to the residents of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. The Barrio Planta Project empowers the children and youth of San Juan del Sur and surrounding areas through free supplementary schooling that instills creativity, enhances confidence, and facilitates international communication.

Together We Bake is an empowerment based job training program for women in need of a second chance within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Together We Bake’s mission is to provide a comprehensive workforce training and personal development program to help women gain self-confidence, transferable workforce skills, and invaluable hands-on experience which will allow them to find sustainable employment and move toward self-sufficiency.

About Denim Fridays: Aronson employees may wear denim in the office on Fridays by providing a small contribution towards our Charity of the Month. The Aronson Foundation matches (up to $1,000) the funds collected for Denim Fridays each month to contribute towards the month’s designated charity. The monthly recipients are nominated by employees who have personal involvement with a charitable organization.
