First-quarter government contracting mergers and acquisitions kept pace with last year’s deal flow, and local investment bankers think the activity sets 2018 up to be another strong year, perhaps even a record-setting one. Through the first two months of the year, Aronson Capital Partners had identified 60 aerospace, defense and government services transactions, which it said put 2018 on a record pace.
In Robert Terry’s Washington Business Journal‘s article, Larry Davis has identified something he calls “outlier bidder” dynamics as a challenge to buyers. He commented:
“The hunt is on for companies with truly innovative, high-end capabilities, but there aren’t a lot of targets that fit that bill.”
