Aronson’s Charities of the Month for May 2017 are the George B. Thomas Sr. Learning Academy’s Saturday School and Bridges from School to Work.
The George B. Thomas Sr. Learning Academy’s Saturday School program provides affordable academic support and tutoring in reading, language arts, mathematics and test-taking for students Grades K-12 in Montgomery County MD. The program believes that these are necessary skills needed for students to gain confidence and be successful in life, college and career.
Bridges from School to Work helps more than a thousand young people–most of whom are transitioning out of high school special education–prepare for the workplace and find a job with an employer in need of qualified, entry-level applicants. Creating and supporting mutually beneficial competitive employment relationships, the program creates opportunities for employment for youth while driving bottom-line results for business.

About Denim Fridays: Aronson employees may wear denim in the office on Fridays by providing a small contribution towards our Charity of the Month. The Aronson Foundation matches (up to $1,000) the funds collected for Denim Fridays each month to contribute towards the month’s designated charity. The monthly recipients are nominated by employees who have personal involvement with a charitable organization.
